Sarah Vella – Cell Site Analysis Expert
Sarah is a ‘vetted’ Expert on the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and is a member of The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (2020). Working in the legal arena for over 20 years, Sarah has extensive experience and training in the field of cell site analysis and communications data analysis including high profile investigations, such as the Omagh Bombing civil case. She has been with Evidence Matters Ltd since its conception in 1996.
Having started as an Authorised Officer within Trading Standards before becoming an Investigator within a Software Anti-Piracy Unit for a trade organisation – conducting test purchases, PACE interviews and case building for criminal cases involving the manufacture and sale counterfeit digital goods (Playstation & Nintendo) across the United Kingdom. She latterly worked as a Police Officer for Northamptonshire Police.
Sarah also has extensive experience in categorising alleged indecent and prohibited images of children, along with extreme pornography, according to current sentencing guidelines. Such Image reviews often result in a significant reduction in the number of images charged, or with increasing frequency, cases being discontinued.
